U.S. Chamber of Commerce | Washington, D.C.
Innovation. It’s what keeps our economy humming, our businesses competitive and hiring, our manufacturers producing, our standard of living improving, and our wages up. America has always led the world in innovation because we are a nation of dreamers and doers, fueled by free enterprise. But we’re in a 21st century global race, competing for the world’s talent, customers, capital, and ideas. We need more and greater innovation.
Fostering the next era of innovation requires five things: preservation of IP rights, talent, capital, a competitive business environment (created through smarter regulations and a competitive tax code), and a fiscally responsible government. The Global IP Center is hosting the 2nd annual IP Summit in conjunction with leading associations to highlight the critical role of copyright, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets in driving innovation and creating jobs across diverse industries. Featuring:
- Honorable Bob Goodlatte, Chairman of House Judiciary
- Senator Chris Coons, Chairman of the Trademark Caucus
- Dr Francis Gurry, Director General of the World IP Organization
- Senator Chris Dodd, President of the Motion Picture Association of America
- John Castellani, President of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America
- Ambassador Robert Holleyman, Deputy United State Trade Representative
- Michelle Lee, Acting Director of US Patent & Trademark Office
- Jacqueline Charlesworth, General Counsel, U.S. Copyright Office
- Paul Clement, former U.S. Solicitor General
