China

In China, the GIPC advocates for increased protection and enforcement of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Specifically, we are working to reduce Internet counterfeiting and piracy and promote the use of legalized software by government and state-owned enterprises. The GIPC is also pressing for enhanced protection of undisclosed regulatory data protection. To address these priority issues, we are conducting high-level dialogue between U.S. intellectual property experts and China’s government officials, business stakeholders, and academics; establishing a robust platform for advocacy on China’s IP legal and regulatory frameworks; exchanging best practices through execution of seminars and research; and coordinating policy messages to the U.S. government. The GIPC’s program aims to promote China’s goal of building an innovative society that benefits domestic and foreign rights holders.
