GIPC Statement on the Passing of Mary Wilson, Founding Member of The Supremes

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and CEO of the Global Innovation Policy Center, David Hirschmann, shared the following statement in response to the passing of music legend, Mary Wilson:

“It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of music icon, Motown legend, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member, Mary Wilson. As a founding member of the groundbreaking and chart-topping super-group, The Supremes, and as a solo artist, Mary’s vocals delighted countless fans from the band’s earliest hits right up until her passing.

“Her voice was also a powerful force in support of songwriters and performers, and we express our gratitude for her selfless work on their behalf. Mary was a remarkable woman with an incredible talent, love of music, and zest for life.

“GIPC was honored to celebrate her career and many achievements as part of our IP Champions Gala in 2018 and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who loved her.”
